What kid wouldn’t want to channel their inner artist by painting a rainbow unicorn? A DIY Unicorn paint party is the perfect solution for a group of 7-year-olds.

We have a CNC machine at our studio and I love having options of wood cutouts to paint.  This has been one of my favorites so far.   I wanted to test out the steps so I could guide these creative kiddos step by step.  Rough job huh? Someone has to do it!  I decided to use my craft paints to handle this job and, what kid would turn down a paint party with rainbow colors and glitter glue.

I grabbed my small flat artist brush and started with my white and decided the color would pop if I added black in the outlines.  why didn’t I do that first?  lesson learned!  maybe I should test another one.  It helped my paint to spread better by getting my brush damp.  I had fun seeing how each color from the rainbow made it so vibrant and pretty.  My game changer was using glitter glue paint for it to sparkle.  I’m starting to wonder if I am some kind of genius.   A rainbow Unicorn wouldn’t be complete without it.  That would be equivalent to a birthday cake without ice cream.  Who likes that?  You won’t have the mess and the giggly girls can glitter their masterpiece and it will actually stay where they want it.

We have several wood cutouts to purchase if you want to browse our selection.  They are perfect for Birthday parties and various other co-worker team building or any special occasion events.
